These programs and resources serve as an important extension to hospital based rehabilitation and facilitates lifelong activity and wellness.
TRAILS offers the following sports and recreation programs: cross country skiing, downhill skiing, handcycling, kayaking, sailing, swimming and wheelchair tennis. Programs provide adaptive equipment and assistance with all sports. The activities take place in multiple locations in the SLC area. Activities are staffed by volunteers and professionals who specialize in SCI rehabilitation.
Military Description
Operation Ski For All provides skiing opportunities throughout Utah Wasatch front mountain range by developing working relationships with all Wasatch Front alpine and Nordic sites. Operation Ski-For-All aims to eliminate all barriers to participation by covering the full costs associated with tickets, lessons, equipment, clothing, food, and transportation. An adaptive ski specialist commands a self-contained, mobile adaptive sports program that follows participants on the adventure of their choice. Clinics focusing on complex physical disability are designed to increase the knowledge of skiers, instructors, volunteers, resort staff, caregivers and ski-buddies.
